In recognition of the many needs of our old school - Marist Brothers High School - in Suva, MOB chapters around the world have literally mobilised to undertake projects to improve the facilities and resources at our old school.

MBHSOBNZ MOBilise Undertaking: Refurbishment of the Science Labs

MBHSOBNZ has committed to upgrading the Science labs, which are in much need of a refurbishment and purchase of new equpment. To this end, a number of fund raising events, namely the Fiji Day Bula Night socials, were held to raise these much needed funds.

The MBHSOBNZ team has been laboriously and wholeheartedly putting its efforts into rallying the old boys in New Zealand towards this most worthy cause, and a lot of you have already been gracious and generous in your support of our activities. For those of you that haven't been able to assist or contribute, our plea is simple: WE NEED YOU and WE NEED YOUR HELP. We need you to remember your years at MBHS, and consider the influence that those years have had on your life. For most of us, I would say that this influence has been considerable.

Regardless of what your experiences were, we ask that you support our journey to restore our old school to its former glory and to provide its current and future students the best possible learning opportunities. If we all pull together and share the load, this will enable us to reach our goals a lot quicker and with less required effort on everyone's part.

This year (2010) we have funded the purchase of urgently needed equipment for the Science labs to the tune of over $1,000. But that's not the end of it. We also have more equipment that will be shipped to Suva through the course of the year whenever there is sufficient volume to make the shipping exercise cost effective. Of course, if you can sponsor or donate the cost of shipping the items to Fiji, that will further our cause to no end.
