MOBilise 2009 Feedback

What an awesome night it was on Saturday !!  Well done to you and the committee !  Everything was lovely esp the last half hour with Roland providing the entertainment that was the icing on the cake.  Hopefully you can book him for the next fundraiser that will certainly be a "draw card" !!

Dear Greg,

I can not resist the chance to pass on my congratulations to the NZ MOB for the outstanding achievement of the past few day. The amount of work in which you have all been involved was above and beyond the call of duty as they say.

For me personally to be reminded of some of my happiest times and to meet up with some of those I have not seen in half a lifetime, and wouldn’t have recognised now if I had met them in the street, has been a time and an opportunity which I will savour for many more days.

More than that, I have felt a personal pride in the way in which students from my six years in Fiji at the High School have grown and developed into men  ( could I say ‘gentle-men’) of stature and substance. Together we must have done something good.
I am very grateful and quite ‘chuffed’ to have been associated with them.

So far as the High School itself is concerned, I can only echo the feelings of others in expressing some sadness at the seeming decline which has taken place over the years. I am confident however that the conference will have gone a considerable way to ensure that it takes on a new lease of life. Beyond that, the work of the MOB round the world will I am sure, provide a new base on which it can rebuild – physically and in every way.

Thank you again for the invitation to be a part of the gatherings, and my prayers for the ongoing success of the MOB.

Sincerely,

Brian Knowles

Bula Greg,

I just wanted to pass on my personal thanks to the NZ MOB Exec team for organising an excellent night on Sat.

It was great to see so many "smiley faces" and the friendly atmosphere, not forgetting an excellent menu and live music.

I am proud to have attended Marist ( the leadership values taught in us was prevalent yet again) and proud to be have been brought up in Fiji, a country that will always remain in our hearts.

Well done mate and long may this tradition continue.

Regards,
Mohammed Imran

Bula gangs, read text first,

The night and school fund raiser, ticket $50 now!!, veka, was a huge success; better than last year even.  Here be 11 of my pics of the nite; more on the Auck MOB website.  First up, our click, Fijian beauties in their lovely chambas, then Fiji style dancing with our mad gang in the foreground.
That's Glenn Ah Sam taking one of me!  Robyn was there too Lorr and TT2 and she looked great; "...you estill hot.." I told her.  :-)  That's her direct niece in the first pic of beauties.  Teflin left his fishing up North to contribute where he feels best, in the kitchen and for a ngase old boy, he can blery twist!!  He'd dragged Andrew Singh over too and a highlight for me was to meet our very own gentle giant Stevie Waqavou; man, he got beeg muskels so I never chicky to him!  Ha ha!  Was great meeting you Stevie.

The Band, all the way from Fiji was excellent and floor show was one hippy sexy Tongan maiden doing a Hindi hula dance!??  Miming in Hindi too; faaark, awesome man.  Au sa throb to the music man.  The latest NZ singing sensation, 18 yr old Roland Williams ex Marist who just won a national singing contest sang us a few songs too and he gots the goods man.
Fantastic voice, good looking, tall, athletic and good mover; his finesse totally belied his youth.  The food was awesome, real lovo food man with the dalos, and meats, kokoda, and curries etc and plenty for seconds for all too.  This Committee with head honcho trail blazer, Gregg Trail and creative treasurer, Edward Fong sa professional sara; us olders have tried before but too many f'n lazy buggers or too old, the 'red fire' blery pffft!  :-)

Next Do is in Fiji, so gear up gangs, I'm pretty keen.  I'll combine as a book promo to claim expenses for tax see and you can too Tom as the film man, Tar, you researching your own book with me as the writer eh and you Lorr book re St Joe's, Sarah for your tapes and Vee, your curry recipes etc
etc.  Up here for tinking gangs.  Thass me.
